22 productivity apps that will make your life easier

After spending £500 for your new iPad, you should make it earn the money back. This article features the best applications to help you get things done.
Things for iPad
Things for iPad is nice intuitive task manager and todo application that helps you manage all kinds of projects and if you own the Things for Mac – you can sync it via wifi. Very nice app, but little expensive.
Todo for iPad
A cheaper alternative to “Things to iPad” with many interesting features (like theme backgrounds).
GoodReader
Excellent document reader that allows you to connect to various document services (Google Docs, iDisk, DropBox and more) and download documents (Office documents, PDFs, images) to view them on your iPad.

Dropbox
Great free document viewer – after you sign-up for a Dropbox account, you get 2GB of free storage plus a Mac utility that allows you to just drop any files in and access them from anywhere via web or your iPad.

Evernote
Evernote is whole enviroment of apps fro iPhone, desktop and iPad that allows you to take all kind of notes, you can use camera on iPhone, save content from webpage on your desktop, record audio and then sync them over all your devices.
Adobe Ideas
Adobe Ideas a simple, free virtual sketchbook rather than a full-on photoshop replacement – take a note, sketch a quick diagram, you can change the color and size of your brush, you can go undo many times and this app smooths your lines into nice curves.
Autodesk SketchBook Pro
Alright, doodling with Adobe Ideas is sweet, but if you want to do some real artworking, you’ll probably want to get this app. From makers of industry leading 3D programs comes this sophisticated tool for artists.
Brushes
Maybe Sketchbook Pro isn’t our thing, then try brushes – very popular drawing app featured even in the original iPad keynote.
Moodboard
Nice app for creating moodboards – creative technique for early stages of project planning/production.
iThoughtsHD
Do you have a lot of ideas? IThoughtsHD will help you make a map of your brain ![]()
iWorks
Powerful Apple Office suite with Pages, Keynote and Numbers – with couple hiccups including not very pleasant file syncing, not being able to print and some compatibility issues with Microsoft Office.
Available in AppStore
Office2HD
Office2HD is the cheaper iWorks replacement – but beware: it lacks some of the slickness of other iPad apps, and also has it’s problems (with xlsx, docx files).

Available in AppStore
Documents to go
Another iWorks replacement available in two versions (normal and premium).
Available in AppStore
iStudiez Pro
Very nice app made for students to manage their schedules, assignments, homeworks, grades and more
Available in AppStore
OmniGraffle
OmniGraffle is powerful tool for creating wireframes and diagrams, process charts or page layouts on iPad. It’s very expensive and there is quite long learning curve, but once you get your head around it, the results are fantastic!
Available in AppStore
iMockups
Another app that let you create wireframes and page layouts – way cheaper than OmniGraffle, but not as robust.
Available in AppStore
Gusto
Gusto for iPad is a website manager that allows you to download (via FTP) and edit website files (html, css, php,..). Not perfect, but many interesting features are coming with next updates!

WordPress for iPad
WordPress for iPad lets you connect to your WordPress blog and add/edit posts. It would do better with html preview and some nice WYSIWYG editor, but as it’s a free app, I’m not sure we are ever going to see that.

Air Display
Air Display transforms an iPad into an external monitor for your Mac (After you install a little piece of software, and if you have both devices on same wifi).
Air Sharing HD
Air sharing HD mounts your iPad as a drive on your computer so you can load it up with files from Excel spreadsheets to PDF files – and view them, email them, print them and more.
Analytics HD
Analytics HD and provides a nice and slick way to see your Google Analytics charts and piecharts.

Twitterific
One of the best Twitter clients available.
